These two multiple-choice worksheet evaluates students’ proficiency in being able to
- compose shapes (two-dimensional) to create a composite shape
- compose shapes (three-dimensional) to create a composite shape
- compose new shapes from a composite shape (i.e. decompose a composite shape)
In this way, they address the first-grade geometry standard G.1.2. The first worksheet has 5 questions, and the second worksheet has 4 questions. They can be used as an assessment or practice pages!
G.1.2 Compose two-dimensional shapes (rectangles, squares, trapezoids, triangles, half-circles, and quarter-circles) or three-dimensional shapes (cubes, right rectangular prisms, right circular cones, and right circular cylinders) to create a composite shape, and compose new shapes from the composite shape.
